    Disney World kilted, eh?

Disney World kilted, eh? ... my in-laws are wanting to take us to Disney World spring of '07. (us = in-laws, myself, wife, and my two sons). I haven't been in over 20 years, I can't wait to return. Now that I am trying to wear my kilt as much as possible, I wonder if I should try to wear it there. I guess I won't

It would make my in laws uncomfortable. And I love to ride all the rides, and a kilt may be hard to deal with.

Has anyone rode a roller-coaster in a kilt?

I have at Hershey Park, and it's not a big deal. Usually you're strapped and wedged in so much there's no concerns. But then I'm a pretty big guy; smaller people may have a problem with exposure. My big problem was getting the sporran out of the way of the straps!

Yep. went to six flags here in NJ back in early september wearing my kilt as did a buddy of mine. we were good until we went on the MEDUSA which has the sholder harness and a horn like a saddle that comes up between your legs. It was a little tricky to get everything adjusted correctly for comfortable riding, but we survived.
all was good on the rides - screamed like banshees all teh way thru - to scare the peopel below of course. It was only when we got off the ride & looked over at the booth where they show the photos taken mid ride did we notice something amiss...
I was fine as i had a longer heavier kilt on than my bud's. But all of the goods were on display for the world to see if they were to look. The 4 of us in the photo (me. my bud & two other friends) DIED laughing when we saw it as boig as life up on the monitors where they have teh most recent pics - much to the bemusement of the staffers in the booth who hadnt noticed the accidental flashing. we quickly bought a set of the pics and high tailed it outta there before too many others noticed.

I would post the pic here but my bud woudl KILL ME if i were to give him that much exposure - not that it hasnt been seen by more than its fair share before but i digress...
    ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!

The pictures in the imagination are probably even better than the ones you bought.

Wore my Chocolate Workman's UK to Whole Foods in Vienna,VA today. Though I didn't see any other kilts out, I did have a lady stop me and ask "What kind of skirt are you wearing?". She couldn't quite grasp the concept of a modern, American style kilt, but I was glad she asked and was able to talk to someone about it.

I do see some of you guys once in a while out and about in Denver area, but usually it's when I'm wearing jeans (don't have enough kilts yet to sacrifice any to paint/mud/etc).

On vacation at the moment in the South. Definitely a culture shock down here (S.C.). Maybe people wouldn't look so funny at a kilt-wearer here if I were wearing a NASCAR T-shirt with a rebel flag on it.... Fortunately, there is a Whole Foods within a reasonable distance, so I am able to obtain sustenance without grits & brown gravy - even though I do rather like grits anyway. :-)

Anyone here near Charleston? Where's a good pub?
