I had no problem in accessing - but there were no colours on some of the maps - the numbers indicated there ought to be. A second try revealed some, but not every time, and it was slow in loading.

It was rather interesting to see the difference between the two dates.

I learned recently that there was at one time a scheme in England for moving unemployed agricultural men, their wives and older children into areas requiring factory workers and two of the surnames I looked for showed a move from East Anglia to the North country in some numbers.

It also confirmed that my mother's father was most likely London Irish - little is known about his family background - though that is asuming his name really was Tuvey.

I thought the first two searches substantiated what I had learned over the last two years. So I plugged in Crumbaugh, a very English side to my father's family and got a no hit.
    So now I'm confused, again.

Maybe try Crum*****, Crom*****or Cram***** - or even Cromby (like the hat) or Crumby or Crumborough, or just try again when the site might be more able to cope.

I checked out both of my parents' surnames (Chapman and Cooper) and they both showed that same tendency to move from East Anglia to the North country.
