To quote the characters in the movie, Without a Paddle:

"Why are you putting on your running shoes, you can't outrun a bear?"
"I don't have to outrun the bear, just one of you two".
"A day spent in the fields and woods, or on the water should not count as a day off our allotted number upon this earth."

Next time you are around a bunch of cattle notice that it is the young ones who do the running and jumping. The old bulls are a more focused and damn near never in a hurry.

    Mountain Kilt for running

Just a thought, given the recent discussion on the Mountain Kilt. It's very lightweight and has a "modesty snap" on the hem, so it would seem a natural choice. I haven't tried running in mine (it only arrived yesterday), but I did try some wide strides and it seemed not to bind.

I think the USA casual would be perfect. It's very comfortable and light enough to move with you rather than creating more resistance.
