One of the best pics I had took was in my tri color Arizona Flag Pittsburgh Kilt. Was at the Horseshoe Bend overlook of the Colorado River.

A professional photographer was taking shots with his Canon Digital Rebel. He asked me if he could take pics of me too, to add some perspective and interest.

I agreed on the condition that he email me a copy of the results. True to his word he did. My gallery is still down for server problems but I think Jeff has the pics on his Pittsburgh Kilts website.

Point is, agree if you want to, but ask for a copy.

I was walking to class one day (local community college). I'm nearing the building in which my next class is located, and I see two guys with their camera phones out. I look behind me to see what attractive girl they must be taking a picture of, and I see that... there's no one behind me.

Two straight 20-ish year old guys taking a picture of a 21 year old guy on a college campus full of attractive females...

One time a beautiful woman asked to have her picture taken with me, and I agreed (of course!). Afterwards I regretted not asking to have my picture taken with her in return - this is now my policy, as long as I have a camera with me. Unfortunately (for me) I don't always carry my camera, but I often have people ask for their photo with me - mostly women, and often posing in various stages of raising my kilt with her hand!

For me, it's just another aspect (bonus) of wearing the kilt. When I'm out with friends, they really get a kick out of how much attention I get!

I get a lot of requests for pictures when I'm wearing the kilt. If I'm out in pants, nobody wants their picture taken with the bald, overweight guy. But when I'm out in the kilt, all sorts of ladies, and some guys, want their picture taken with me. It's just the power of the kilt.

Actually had my first request this weekend. Myself, my wife, and 2 daughters went to the mall oin Saturday afternoon to browse and let the girls play on the indoor playground. As we were leaving, my youngest decided to a have a little fit and did not want to walk with us. No problem, I just grabbed her about the waist and slung her off my hip, and she was flying along with me, still crying. Which, now that I think about it, must have been a pretty funny picture. Anyway, this guy comes up from behind with a camera in his hand (a very professional looking digital), and asks to take my picture, and he wanted me to keep my daughter where she was!

Forgot to ask him for a copy.

When I was in Edinburgh a few years ago, I was coming out of St. Giles Cathedral when I noticed some people trying to take a picture of the outside, so I hurried to get out of the way, when they asked in broken English if they could take a picture of a real Scotsman. I told them I wasn't Scottish, but they said that no one back home would know the difference. So they got a picture of a man in a kilt in front of St. Giles to take home and show everyone what a real "Scotsman" looks like.

    Picture Taking

I must look unfriendly or in a hurry because I have only ever been stopped in the street twice and asked to pose for a picture (which I happily agreed) - both times by Japanese tourists - once in my black watch kilt in Princes Street, Edinburgh and once in my Cunningham kilt in Fort William.
