Hi Beery,
Just to throw in my sixpennyworth:
On my first 'proper' visit to Wales last September, I treated myself to a cilt (Welsh for kilt!) in what is currently known as the Welsh National tartan or the St. David's Tartan (Brithwe Dewi Sant). As far as I know, I have no Welsh blood, only very good friends there, but I like the tartan and wanted to wear the cilt as a mark of my respect for that fine Country - I also wanted to have it in my Kilt Kollection. That was all the justification I needed for the purchase! This was the first photo I took of myself wearing it:

The kilts are available from our very own www.KiltStore.net and from the Wales Tartan Centres - www.welsh-tartans.com - amongst others.
If you are of Welsh extraction, why not consider this fine tartan?
