Probably need a belt, but you could attend any formal or semi-formal even dressed that way and nobody would accuse you of being under-dressed.
That's a pretty standard "black tie" combination (sans jacket) that Daz is wearing...and I'm sure the jacket is around there somewhere, if I know Daz! ;)

Attending a formal function without a jacket is being under-dressed, though.

    Cheers,

I would wear this with a prince charlie jacket and vest-hence no belt, it spoils the look with the prince charlie, the hose are offwhite.

The Ulster Red is a wonderful choice for those of us of Ulster-Scot descent. If you want to see a kilt in this tartan go to Matt Newsome's website at www.albanach.org.

There are several views of this tartan in a 4 yard box pleat.

My most receint tartan was the "Braveheart" tartan - another universal. Truly a great looking tartan.

    Hi Beery,

Just to throw in my sixpennyworth:

On my first 'proper' visit to Wales last September, I treated myself to a cilt (Welsh for kilt!) in what is currently known as the Welsh National tartan or the St. David's Tartan (Brithwe Dewi Sant). As far as I know, I have no Welsh blood, only very good friends there, but I like the tartan and wanted to wear the cilt as a mark of my respect for that fine Country - I also wanted to have it in my Kilt Kollection. That was all the justification I needed for the purchase! This was the first photo I took of myself wearing it:

The kilts are available from our very own www.KiltStore.net and from the Wales Tartan Centres - www.welsh-tartans.com - amongst others.

If you are of Welsh extraction, why not consider this fine tartan?

But with some of the fashion designers out there, it may well be thought of!!!
