Actually, I was thinking most teams have three main colors (For the Eagles it's green, black and silver, for the Flyers it's orange, black and white, etc) that could make up an actual tartan pattern.
Although with football kilts, there'd be a heck of a lot of people confused about the 'yardage!'

IN! On both counts!
My wish list still includes a Celtic FC tartan kilt (so far I only have the scarf..), but either of the above would be great. Perhaps we are on the trail of a new business venture here, eh folks???

I thought about this for a moment and went to play with the tartan designer...
Forgive me, as I am not very artistic...but how about this for an Eagles tartan?

Powerball Dreams....
I have alway said that if I ever won powerball (Multistate lottery for those who don't know) I would have a tartan for each team, it would take into account history of the team etc, so the Bills would be Navy and Red with light blue and white highlights. I am sure it would be a niche market but it might open eyes to some men to wear the kilt. I don't know if it would help, but I certainly would have a lot more kilts if it didn't :-) Powerball dreams are great aren't they.
Now if someone wins powerball and uses my idea don't forget about me

team tartans...
Most of the major fitba' (real football!) teams in Scotland have their own tartans: Rangers, Hearts, Hibs, Celtic.
Up the Jambos! ;)
Cheers,
Todd

Thank you Todd, I was wondering when someone would bring up real football.
I am not a fan of American "football" (who needs that many downs?and all those pads?) but even I will be rooting for the Seahawks this weekend. Of course it still won't convince me to watch the stuperbowl.

I second that motion Colin.
Having been brought up playing REAL football, I don't understand the US 'version' - too many stops & starts & too much padding for my tastes.
If you wanna bash & maul people on a playing field BE REAL PLAY RUGBY!!!
Will be watching the superbowl tho - with a bunch of friends mainly to dis the commercials & half time show!!!
ITS A KILT, G** D*** IT!

Here, here. I used to watch the odd CFL game until I saw a Rugby game. Kind of makes "football" (come on you don't even use your feet- except one guy)look like a sport for old ladies compared to the non-stop blood bath that is rugby. Go Scotland!
