Do you have one. Copy mentions leather but its confusing for me. Is there leather on the inside of the wood clamps or something?

Thanks for any help and welcome to the board.

It has a leather strip bonded on both sides of the clamp.

The hanger clamp is also adjustable so you can set the right amount of clamp pressure.

Thanks, kinda guessed that but wasn't sure from the copy. Wonder why they don't make a big thing of that in their web information, seems like a strong selling point, especially to justify such an expensive hanger...

Width seems good. Even with my fat belly sized kilts would only be an inch and change sticking out on either side.

Seems like a wise thing to do for my hand sewn traditional kilts.

After all the threads looking for hangars that work for kilts, nice to have this come along.

it's about storing kilts. I'm using regular old pants hangers, and the problem is that they pull the pleats all kittywhompus around the buckles/straps because I have to fold the waistband over in thirds.. After hanging for a couple of weeks I have to re-iron the pleats around the sides of my hips or they look like the dickens. I even have a kilt-hanger from Stillwater, and what it is, is just an old fashioned pants hanger.

I don't have room to store them all laid out flat, which would be ideal, I think. They're gonna have to live in the closet. I *THINK* that an old fashioned pants hanger

    like this: http://www.alwaysbrilliant.com/aa/aa...nt_Hangers.htm

only with the pieces of wood about 14-16 inches long instead of 8 would do it, but I've never seen such a thing. Anybody got any solutions out there?

That's the first I have seen that long. I'll have to keep it in mind.

Good work Nick. Another exapmle of a kilt company finding what it's customer base needs and wants and coming up with a solution. I will be ordering one of these very soon.

    Thanks Nick,

Curious about the long delivery time...custom made?

And, would it be possible to order them with two more clips on them...I find that five clips distribute the weight better....at least on my plastic Walmart hangars...

Oops - if they're showing with a long delivery time, that's a mistake, due to the fact they only went online on our site this afternoon. They're actually available from stock as we ordered a large batch. Will fix that on the site tomorrow.

And I'm afraid we can't do them with five, for the same reason. But I have to say that the reason they have three is that we've found they work absolutely fine with three. We tested various possible designs and this was the best we could come up with. We're using the hangers ourselves in our own stock area too.

If you have a Target Store in your area they sell a fine hanger on the same order as the one on that site but much more heavy duty. I looked for years for a hanger with enough strength to hold my heavy tartan kilts and these work just fine and no waiting time either! The best part is that it's in the shape of a normal hanger and I can put a Kilt jacket on over the entire thing so it saves space and another hanger. My heavy kilts have never fallen off these hangers.

    I use these...

    40cm (16 inch) hangers....no problem with a 16oz kilt.

    I got them from http://www.kiltsandmore.de

    €7,80 each...bit of a rip off I think, but they're perfect.
