Kilted in the classroom - last post I promise!

As some of you know, my first kilt arrived just after Christmas and I have been wearing a kilt to class now and then during these first three weeks of the semester. Today, one of my students raised her hand and said "Mr. Corlis, I don't think you've worn a kilt all week - what's up with that?" another student corrected her "No... he wore a kilt on Monday - remember?" A few questions about tartans, kilts, and "that pouch thingie" followed before we dove into the content for the day.
 Color me happy!

I wish I had a teacher cool enough to wear a kilt to school.
Did they have any interesting questions?

It is great that the kilt has got the students' attention. The questions sound like they have a genuine interest in the kilt. It sounds like you have a very positive learning environment in your classroom.
I don't know how you feel about contemporary kilts, Phil, but it would be interesting to see what kind of reaction you would get from your students if you wore a Utilikilt.

Congratulations on wearing the kilt into the classroom as a college instructor. I believe your students will be more open-minded as they go through life because of it.

My oldest son's macroeconomics prof is from England, & is a popular teacher at DBU. He knows my son from last semester's microecon class. Last week, as he was delivering a lecture relating to the things ppl choose to buy, he said he didn't understand certain tastes, but "whatever blows up your kilt!" My son had a good laugh over that one.

Phil, don't stop posting these types of tales, as this is great to hear. I think the more stories like this we hear the more inspired we all become.

Phil, I most heartly second what GMan has said. These post have been very interesting to read. Please don't feel that you are boring us with them. I really enjoy hearing about the reactions of younger people to the kilt. I also thing you are doing all kilt wears a great service by wearing the kilt to the classroom. That, in itself, is an educational experience for the students.

Thanks for the encouragement GMan and Darrell. Being new here, I guess I worry that my "discoveries" are old news to the gentlemen who have been kilted for years. But I guess that shouldn't surprise me - The support I got from this forum helped me start this whole adventure!
By the way - one of my wife's co-workers wants to talk to me about getting a kilt for St. Patrick's Day!
