Indeed. I sometimes i go into situations with a bit of uneasyness.
Typically the stress is brought on by myself. I have never had trouble with mens attitudes, comments etc. Women on the other hand, will try to lift your kilt from time to time. Damn Sexual harrasment...

Yes going about with apprehension about wearing the Cilt is sometimes an overblown feeling on our part. I find that guys in particular love it, sort of wishing that they were able to wear one.

Being kilted full time since August here in mid-Missouri, I find that men usually do not say anything, or if they do, it's complimentary. Women, on the otherhand have given me many compliments. So far, I've had no derogatory remarks from either men or women. Two men have inquired as to where they could get a kilt. I've been quite amazed. While I'm always aware of the fact that I'm wearing a kilt, I've become totally confident in wearing one in public.

Pure speculation on my part, but I think that many of the men that see me wearing a kilt secretly wish they had the confidence to wear one also.

I've found the same thing, Derek. Among brawny athletic-types ("manly men") I've only found admiration. Among the preppy set ("trying to fit in") set I get the most comments, as they try to raise themselves a notch in others' eyes.

One of the most brawny men I know, an ex-Ranger, was one of the most vocal advocates of kilts. He's pictured many times on Sport Kilt's photo page (Carlos).
