Oh, yeah, but after the daughters come the grandkids... Then life is sweeter than ever.

I do love that Nova Scotia tartan and it looks great on you.

Got to find an excuse to go to Nova Scotia so I'll have an excuse to get a kilt in their tartan...won't be difficult to get my wife to go anywhere in Canada...might be difficult getting her to let me get another kilt, though.

That is one nice kilt.

This is one kilt I didn't see before it was shipped out. I really think the pattern is growing on me. It's nice to see a kilt made out of an East coast tartan. You get so use to seeing the usual family tartans and forget theres a world of tartans to choose from.
It's also nice to see an American embracing a tartan from a small Canadian province. The East coast of Canada does have the Celtic feel, the weather will also remind you of Scotland, England and Ireland.

I got it because as a youngster of 7 or 8, I visited the maritime provinces. My Dad was a teacher and we had summers off. We made two or three, month or so long trips and one was to Eastern Canada. We came up from the NE coast of the US and crossed over to Nova Scotia on the ferry Bluenose. We ended traveling around most of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI. I will always remember the piper welcoming us as we came off the ferry in NS.

I actually went back a few years later with my grandparents and it rained 38 out of 40 days. My grandfather bought a flat cap in the NS tartan and I always fancied it. I will go back one day.

You remember very well. :-) I have that song as performed by the Irish Rovers. Always loved it.

Your kilt looks great! Makes me think I may have to add that tartan to my ever-growing wish list. ;-)

My Macdonald ancestors went to Skye Glen, Nova Scotia during the clearances. But have the Cape Breton Island tartan on my wish list, or, if I can find it the Gillis tartan to honor my two great grandmother Mary Gillis who was already in Nova Scotia when my two great grandfather arrived. Sure glad they liked each other.

That is a nice looking kilt Dale. The Blue with a little yellow is pretty, I know some folk don't like yellow but I do.
