    With number 3 you have several attractive but different possibilities for the way the cloth is pleated if to the stripe, plus the sett.

    I would suggest getting at least one running length of it - so that you can firstly save time by cutting the kilts as one piece, so there is no need for joins, and secondly make two different kilts by selecting the stripes to pleat to, or doing one to a stripe and one to the sett.

    I'd have to get at least two running kilt lengths as I would want to make one pleated with the red stripe centered, one with the white stripe, maybe one to the sett and one to - mmm - I'd have to think about that. The stripe on the red looks a bit weak - but it could be the photo.

    Some of the other fabrics look OK, but I think that No. 3 looks to have more going for it than any of the others.
