I'm not sure about the weight of the Dritz pins but Rocky sells the same style for $2 delivered which are a good weight. It is what I wear on mine. They do tend to make a large opening where they pass thru the kilt but it makes it that much easier to find the same hole after washing so I get the pin in the same spot every time.
