    My kilt has been insulted

As you could know, I received, one week ago, my first kilt, from Geoffrey (Taylor). I had to pay a custom fee: $ 46.30 cdn, plus taxes. I had looked into chapter 62 of the Canadian tariff, and I hadn't found kilts among men's jackets and trousers. But, of course, they found a place among "other garments". BUT... they classified my kilts among garments made of man-made fibers... (621133909, for those who want to check...)
    Anyway, it's 18 %...

Doesn't the US tarriff classify kilts as costumes?

At any rate, why would you want your kilts in the same category as trousers

Not sure how they classify it here. All of the kilts I have gotten from the UK have been shipped with a "gift" classification....

I guess that shows how special people think the Kilt is. Other meaning superior to trousers and the like.

Mine have also been classified as gifts. Shipping via mail rather than UPS or the like saves a lot of customs issues also.
