I've not done anything with them, but I've heard bad things about them.

Thanks, gentlemen. I had actually already searched and found the threads you provided. "I've heard bad things once from a cousin of mine" may truly be a bad indication, but it could just as easily be self-propagating misinformation.

I will check RKilts as an alternative source but but was hoping someone on the board had actual experience with The-Hilt. I do take your cautions seriously though and will refrain from ordering until I hear from some real customers.

    much grass, er um, hemp,

Here's some stuff off the UK board. I'm guessing that the thread we're looking for was from before the format change on this board. I remember there was a guy who ordered, went through many months of difficulty finding out when he was getting his hilt, even getting a response once they had his money.

For sure there hasn't been a positive response or a rush to acquire hilts.

Also, there was an old thread that at one time UK was gonna try a hemp kilt but it proved too difficult to sew. Obviously, Robert at Rkilts has an answer.

Just in case any of you are interested in getting a Hilt from the link
provided, be aware that a couple people have tried and with very poor
luck. Not only was the product not good, the company is pretty shady.

Bottom line, they don't deliver for about a half
a year and when they do the "hilt" is crapola.
