Hmmm... this is an "urban kilt legend", right? If this was true, then shouldn't they be called sporran strap loops?? ... and wouldn't it make more sense to size and locate them to suit a sporran strap rather than a wide belt?? This kilt stuff is just too myterious sometimes!

(Did you know that the holes in the top of shoes is not really for laces but actually for ventilation!! ... and clothing is more comfortable when worn inside-out!! ... but that's getting way off-topic.)
