Y'know, you could do both. Donate the hair for wigs and shave the head for the donations for research. Brian, regardless, I think ya done good.

This is a fantastic charity event. As for growing your hair for locks of love, that is fine also, but instead of posting differing opinions on which is better, why not be a little supportive, or else clam up.
Let it be known that over the last 6 years, over USD12 million has been raised by these events worldwide. My niece is almost 5 years old, and 3 years ago was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a particularly nasty childhood cancer. These types of fund raising events generate the cash needed to continue researching a cure for childhood cancers. The fact that my niece will see her 5th birthday and be cancer free for almost 3 years is reason enough to support these charities...
Here's to you Avonlea22! I raise my glass to you for your bravery and charity! Sláinte!

Where did I ever say that it wasnt good? Im glad there are people out there that will donate to cancer research and things. Im glad you are doing stuff like this I just said that I didnt understand the shaving head part.
There was no malice intended in anything I said ,why is everyone mad at me?

I must have taken it out of context, then. My apologies.
The shaving of the head is symbolic of the loss of hair that the children (or anyone) go through when they start Cemo. It's just another way to raise awareness, like the pink ribbons for breast cancer, or the MS walk.
