    Idiot in a skirt!

I have heard it all and like many of you have many responses for the under the kilt question. Does anyone have any good responses to the idiot in the pub telling everyone you are wearing a skirt? Ignoring him works but a quick response is sometimes more fun.

Just shake your head and say "the state of education these days!".

"I could tell you but you're not my type"
"why did you want to know?"
Look purplexed and then say" Why, it's kilt day of course"
"Why did you want a date?"
Or you can look at him like he's crazy and say"For the last time I just don't like you that way!"

Don't worry there's more to come.

You all are much nicer than me, my reaction is usually giving the idiot a chair to the head.

    Start with:
"Don't make me go 'Braveheart' on you!"

    Followed by:
"Do you really want your freinds saying that you got your A$$ kicked by a guy in a skirt?"

Some of the "best" responces are also a good way to get into a fight. Consider whether or not you REALLY want to go down that road.

With that caveat in mind, I once told a guy that he was confused. A Kilt is what a man wears.
A skirt is what his girlfriend leaves wadded up on the floor when she meets a man in a kilt.

A more civilized response comes from a signature I've seen on this board (and I apoligize in advance that I don't remember who had it...)
    It was
"Son, someday you will make a girl very happy for a short period of time.
Then she'll leave you and be with new men who are ten times better than you could ever hope to be.
    These men wear kilts."

If I had worn kilts back in my younger and wilder day's I'd still be locked up.

Friday night is "our" pub night...I hardly see my wife during the week...she works very early...I work late...friday night we always go to a pub to tell eachother about what happened during the week, we make plans for the weekend and beyond. And we empty 2 bottles of wine and just enjoy being together.

So...for us this is an important evening out...our friday night is holy to us.

Since I'm a full time kilt wearer...I also go to the pub kilted (kilt needs fresh air the next day ).

Hardly any problems...the usual...nice remarks, smiles and sometimes:
    "Oh!...he's wearing a skirt!"...nothing special.

Last friday...a drunken "suit" pushed me to the limits (I'm really a non violent person)...

"Hey! Scottish boy! , hey! faggit!"

He asked for it...and he got it...

I'm not proud of it, I hate violence...it just happened.
The bartenders came in between when I was sitting on top of the guy demanding a full apology.

He was dragged out... (I'm a regular )

    I guess the kilt won

I just say, "Boys wear pants. Men wear kilts." On occasion I've even said to women who have said it's a skirt, "Yes...and it's prettier than yours."

That tends to get a laugh....usually if they keep insisting it's a skirt it's because they are 1) drunk or 2) think they'll just get under your skin by calling it a skirt all the time. Once you show that you don't care, they tend to stop.
