When I was much younger I had an Irish girlfriend who couldn't believe how wild St. Patrick's Day was here in the states. No wild parties and no corned beef in Dublin and she couldn't believe that anyone in their right mind would drink green beer...

Too true. The only real beer is black.

I've given up eating corned beef & cabbage on St. Patty's day. By the time I go to bed I've got such a case of the winds that not a soul wants to be in the same room, not even the dog. Instead I'll indulge myself with some meat & potato pie, which I've always liked better anyway.

Face it...with that 18,000 punds of corned beefr the Carnegie Deli in New York could make, like, a couple of dozen sandwiches. Ever SEE one off their corned beef sandwiches? They're like a foot thick.
Ruebens are my downfall....if you call that a downfall.
Best

I work near the Carnegie Deli....you have to fast a day before you eat one of their sandwiches and then you're good for the rest of the week.
