    Trying to visualize a tartan

I’m contemplating a MacDonald of Clanranald tartan for my next kilt, but I’m having a problem visualizing the full pattern from online pattern swatches.

To that end, I’ve tried to cut and paste a couple swatches, to get a better idea of what the pattern would really look like. I have no idea how accurate this method might be. For instance, I don’t know how wide stripes that “happen” to be along one edge of the swatch would be in the actual tartan.
    Can someone assist?

    Here’s the swatch:

Here's what I came up with:

Can I expect the tartan to look like this? Would it appear this blue, or would the green actually be more prominent?

I believe that the green should be the same width and pattern as the blue ones.

Mudd is right... the green is much larger.

Imagine the "regular" MacDonald with white boarders around the blocks.

If you're Windows I've had success with using the swatch as a tile to create a desktop of the tartan with the tiles feature.

Have Macdonald of Kingsburgh on both my home and office computer.

You forgot to repeat the red line in the vertical. It should look like this:

I cropped it so you can tile that and it will repeat correctly.
