Hi flairball,
Being colorblind and fashion deaf I don't usually contribute to these threads but.....
Just wearing the kilt in public is enough of a testicle-tightener that one doesn't need more stress. Go for what gives you that bouncy, confident feeling.
IMHO, a pair of GOOD FITTING, comfortable black shoes is an investment that will pay handsomely reguardless of what you do about kilts in the future.
Strangly enough, I found myself unwilling to "out" until I had a sporran to wear. Made me feel like I was wearing a complete outfit.
Oh, and a brown Buzz Kidder sporran will match the shoes you own very nicely too.
