What is up with Scottishkilts.net?
Guys (and Gals), I'm in a lather: last October I ordered a charcoal jacket and waistcoat from Scottishkilts. It arrived in 11 days and the quality was wonderful; I was very happy untill I noticed that I'd been sent the wrong size (a 50R instead of a 50L). Ie-mailed Scottishkilts in early November to see about how I might get an exchange for my proper size, and finally received a reply from David McSweeney saying that they were expecting stock in the last week of November/early December, and would send out the correct size along with instructions on how to return the jacket/waistcoat now in my posession. Since that e-mail, I've had no contact with Scottishkilts.net, despite my sending an e-mail inquiring as to the status of my order/return roughly every two weeks or so. Folks, I don't know what to do about this! I would love to just get an e-mail from them just acknowledging my existence, if not the exchange clothing: has anyone else been in this situation, or does anyone have a suggestion on how to contact them? The time difference is 7 hours from Denver, IIRC...I'm just surprised! I exchanged e-mails with the staff several times in a prompt fashion when I had questions about their stock, rarely more than a 24 hour lag. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.
Bryan...I really like the jacket-I wish it fit...

No idea. I (as well as others) ordered an "Irish American" kilt from them and had great service. Good communication, timely shipping and good service. Perhaps pick up the phone?........
I assume you mean scottishkilts.net

Yes, Scottishkilts.net. I'd had such a good experience with them up to this point (via e-mail) that I just couldn't conceive of them not responding in a similar fashion. I know of many people who've had wonderful service from them (Scottishkilts), and a few who've said that htey can be a bit difficult to get ahold of. Starbkjrus, did you place your order online, or by phone?
Bryan...I guess I'll be dropping a dime...

I also ordered a charcoal jacket and vest. It took two months to arrive. It was the wrong style. Got no reply to an email. Called them. They said they'd send the correct one immediately. Meanwhile I sent the the incorrect back to them.
It's been over two weeks now.
We must be taxing their distribution network!

Scottish themes
I ordered my kilt from scottish themes a.k.a. scottishkilts.net last April and I gave them until the first week in September to deliver. They were still 3 weeks late. I emailed them several times and (David Macsweeny) was the contact person. I even called them in Scotland 4 or five times They always had a different reason for the delay. Still once I got the kilt it was awsome. I don't know if I'll order from them again.( I had visions of them as some fly-by-night outfit in the warehouse district in Glasgow.

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with them Bryan. I have ordered the charcoal jacket/waistcoat combo, and 8 yard handsewn kilt, and now a dress sporran from them. While I have found that they can be a bit forgetful, I have only had great service from them. David McSweeney has always answered all my emails and questions. My kjacket needed to be made, as they didn't have my size in stock when I ordered. It does not look much like the jacket you, Graham, Spacemoose, etc have in that Scottishkilts added the silver buttons for me. It's a nice change so I didn't complain.
I know they are extremely busy right now, but that is no excuse for a lack of communication. I hope your situation gets resolved.

I did everything on the net. I was very pleased but I do have to say that I emailed after my kilt arrived to ask which mill wove the fabric and have not heard back. BUT that is not very important if you are very busy getting orders out the door.

You should phone them. Do it when you wake up so they are still at work It should work out. At least it did with me after some logistic difficulties :P

I ordered a tweed jacket and waistcoat from them last year, the jacket was a perfect fit but the waistcoat was one size too small and being a perfect 46R I can't use the waistcoat, I tried to get an adjustment from the company but they never came through with any suggestions on how to get it done. I decided to get a local tailor to make the alteration and never deal with Scottishkilts again.

Wow, I was actually just looking at their tweed jackets and waistcoats because of the price but now I'm wondering if I'll want to buy from them.
