Hi,
Sorry to get into this thread a little late but I wanted to say that my recent order for an Irish-American kilt with Scottishkilts.net, was very promptly and professionally handled, including order confirmation and shipping notification with tracking number.
I was pleasantly surprised by the speed of delivery and, even more importantly, very pleased with the kilt, itself and very definitely will do business with them in the future.
Glad your situation was amicably resolved.
Bob

Hi Bob, glad to see you here!
I had the same experience as Bob did - I will definitely be a Scottishkilts.net customer in the future.
Question, though, for those of you who've ordered from there in the past: have you gotten nailed with those silly fees for tariffs like we have heard about from FedEx (when ordering from Kiltstore.net)?

When I ordered from Scottishkilts it came here via USPS and I wasn't charged duty. With FedEx or other couriers you'll be charged no matter what and their service charge for collecting is a killer.

No tariff fees for mine when shipped by Parcel Force/USPS...I just had to go pick it up at the Post Office.
Bryan...trying to decide on my kilt for tomorrow...

I have not been nailed nearly as much as people have with kiltstore. Space Moose and i live in the same city. He ordered an 8 yard "balmoral" from kiltstore (which ships with FedEx) and got hit with close to $200 tax and duty. I ordered an 8 yard from Scottishkilts (mine came via UPS) and I got hit with $32 in duty and tax. When I ordered my dress sporran, David said he would have it shipped by Parcel Force, as there is usually little, if any duties, when shipped throught them.
Scottishkilts would have to screw up pretty badly to lose me as a future customer. The level of service I have gotten from them to this point has been outstanding.

My second kilt came from Scottishkilts.net and the service was excellent. They should never even be mentioned in the same thread with Clansman Knitwear.

I emailed David and he told me that they will have some more sales in the near future. I also reminded him (but he already knew) about the number of orders that came from this website and the positive talk of the kilts he offers.
I also learned that he designed the Irish American, a combination of the USA and Republic of Ireland flag.

Another satisfied customer
I'll put my hand up in defense of Scottishkilts.net. I ordered one of their Irish American 5 yard kilts. Delivery time was almost 2 weeks quicker that I expected (appropriately enough, it arrived on the 17th). They shipped via Parcel Force and USPS, and I was not charged any duties.
All skill and effort is to no avail when an angel pees down your drones.

ScottishKilts.net's kindly Mr McSweeney sent along this update on my jacket and vest order AND info concerning a change in the jacket styles available:
Dear Mr Koch,
A recent thread on the xmarksthescot forum was brought to my attention today and I would like to offer my personal apologies for the delay in getting the replacement jacket to you.
The image on the site [Tweed Argyll with 5 Button Waistcoat Item Code: VTW5V] is no longer the style we are stocking and this has caused several mix ups, although thus far no one has had the common sense to change the image. A replacement jacket was specially ordered from our tailor in February and is due in any day now. All going well the jacket should be in your hands by the end of next week. I will send you a further email early next week updating you on the progress.
Once again, my apologies for the delay. We will be changing the image on the site this week and hopefully this will prevent any future problems. I can assure you that throughout the group we deal with a very large number of orders and pro rata the number of problems we experience are minimal.
With apologies.

Feel bad putting them to the trouble of making a jacket special. Nice to know they check this board, though.
