    How is the workmanship on your sporran?
    Any sporran with a cantle is usually considered a dress sporran.

    Well....

    It looks pretty well fitted together. The cantle is attached to the sporran in three places with two bent over pins each, it seems pretty solidly attached. The small leather strap that attaches the front of the sporran to the back with a snap seems reasonably strong for casual use. The leather on the belt that came with it is ok, but just so. I wouldn't go hiking with this sporran or stuff it to the brim. But when I want to look dressy I think it is a good value for the money.

    I didn't really know a lot about what sporran was appropriate for which occassion. I did think that the classic sporran with the three tassles should have good quality soft leather, and that a cheaper sporran would look so in that style.
