I'm with KT and Ioalus on this one. Women and girls do it all the time, and some of them in pretty dang short skirts, and I've never heard of them having a problem.

I think if anybody got a look up yer kilt, they'd have to be trying.

before worrying about flashing someone with your kilt, keep in mind that every day millions of women in skirts and other female non-bifurcated clothes walk up and down millions of stairs.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Two things: first, female genitalia is, let's say, less visible than ours, isn't it? (Maybe it's why we tend to look with more attention...)
Second: this weekend, my GF wanted to know if I wore..., and she could find it out while I was going upstairs. And I'm only 5' 9".

Then she was "tryin" to find out. Some curiousity knows no bounds, and you can't stop those people. Inadvertant flashing of those not looking for it is a bit more difficult than many seem to think.

When you go up stairs, your kilt sways from side to side, not backwards and forwards. Sure, your legs are apart a little as you climb each step, but your kilt naturally falls into place against your legs, just as it does when walking on flat ground. I always bound up the stairs at work, and never worry about anyone seeing anything.

And as others have said, I've closely followed girls up stairs while they were wearing skirts that could more properly be called "belts" - nothing to see. Yes, girls don't have dangly bits, but we wear our hemlines longer.

If someone wants to see up your kilt while you're climbing the stairs, they're going to have to really try. Like, run up behind you and lean way over and crane their necks up. And if they're trying that hard, they deserve to see whatever's there.

Not to run this topic into the ground, but we are generally incorrect in what we believe people see.

1. Most people are not paying any attention to you in the first place.

2. They would have to be right underneath and looking straight up (maybe with a flashlight).

3. It's dark up there.

4. Unless you're walking bow-legged with a spotlight on your crotch they won't see anything more than a bit of thigh.

5. Wearing anything other than dark bikini briefs will only draw attention to that area and make you look ridiculous.

6. If someone wants to learn the nature of your under-vesture, they will, but that's a far cry from "flashing." Discerning whether or not there be any undwear up there and actually seeing the family jewels is a very different matter. Just keep you legs together and walk with poise (I know, men don't usually learn those skills growing up!) and nobody's gonna see nuthin'

yup, unless someone is purposefully trying to get a look under the kilt, odds are that they won't see much more than a bit o' thigh just above the knee, unless of course you are of the sort that needs to wear your kilt a bit longer than most.

Glass stairs in a computer shop in Chicago? That strikes me as very odd. What about women in skirts? I thought glass stairs were only a figment of the imagination so that the fairer sex could continue to be both fairer and modest. Fair to say that when in Chicago, one can see London and France?

Anyway, I have always been very confident on stairs (well the non-glass kind), but last summer at the local highland games, confronted by bleachers (stadium seats) I lost my nerve. The idea of climbing stairs with people sitting on either side, some being children and many looking bored ... Anyway, we found some good sits in the front row. Is it likely that people can see up your kilt from a seated position on bleachers as you climb the stairs?
