Brand New Member
Hello, all! My name is Will (smile, bow) and I'm looking forward to joining the kilted brotherhood, tho' I have not yet done so. I was planning on picking up a Utilikilt at DragonCon this year, because I kind of thought they were the only (casual kilt) game in town, but a bit of internet research has shown me that that's =definitely= not the case! I'm still planning on getting a UK, but now I'm thinking about getting either an AmeriKilt or a Buzz Kidder Canvas Kilt as my first kilt. Anyone with further advice/suggestions, feel free to speak up! Thanks!

G'day Will and welcome. Can't say much about the contemporary kilts as I've never worn them myself. There are by far more educated folk here than I about those. But don't afraid to try on a traditional. there's some awesome tartans and strong, versatile and can be worn casually. I love 'em!

The only advice I can give you is: Don't make any major purchases like cars, televisions and junk like that. After you buy your first kilt, you'll want more kilts, and more accessories to go with them.
Then you'll be wanting a gym membership to get in better shape so you'll look great in all those kilts.
And then you'll want to go to interesting places wearing them.
Kilts are like crack. They take over your life.
At least kilts are a healthy addiction and hecka fun!

Hey, you're not supposed to tell new members that. We want them to think that we are all-knowing.
Besides, they all find out eventually.
