I vote for the "cool" factor. People are amazed that we all look so dapper while wearing such an honorable garment.

Another element that plays into #1 are those that think, "He's wearing a kilt. Why would he do that?"

They think a kilt is only for special occasions and give the same reaction to someone wearing a tuxedo in the same store.

It's the novelty factor....they don't know why we're wearing a kilt, they don't understand why anyone would want to wear a kilt! Oh the ignorant masses! What they don't know they're missing out on!

Up in Park City it is the Spanish speaking that tend to stare. Most people smile or say nice Cilt. Some of the teenage girls giggle. I just look straight at them and smile, they then of course get embarassed and giggle more.
My wife tells me not to tease them.

It's the same way here in North Ga! The only differance is it's my boss telling me not to tease them.

I stopped off at a 7-11 yesterday during errands to get a soda and a guy who liked like a construction worker came over to me and asked if he had forgotten a holiday or something. I responded that no, there was no major holiday yesterday. So then he asked me why and pointed up and down motioning to my clothing. So I responded "Because I like to keep people on their toes."
