What would you do?
I believe I mentioned ordering my SWK Solid Black Economy. It showed up yesterday. Unfortunately, I had a 24 work shift, so I had to wait till today to check it out.
The kilt seems pretty well constructed. The material is rather soft. I had expected something slightly on the rough side, so I was surprised.
I can't say too much more about the kilt, though. It turns out that I misjudged what size I needed. I had wanted to wear the kilt low, on my hips, much like I do with my pants. With that in mind, I decided to order one size above my pant size. Unfortunately, the 38 kilt was about 2" shy of fitting. I shoulda gotten the 40. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Anyway... I AM on a diet and Uncle Sam has forced me into a fairly rigorous exercise routine. Should I keep the kilt for such time as I do fit in it, or should I send it back and ask for a 40"?

I would send it back, just for the shear fact that if it does not fit now, then it will be awhile until you can fit into it at the tightest position, where it fits best. The situps Uncle Sam will push you into will stretch those stomach muscles. I have two in the 34" size, and they are a little too small, but the 36" is too big, so I am at a quandry.

Bear in mind that a Stillwater size 40 is a size 40 with the straps in the tightest hole, not the center hole like other kilts. So, the 40 will adjust out to about 41 and a half, but not smaller. The 38 should adjust to just under 40. My size 44 Stillwaters are about a perfect fit in the middle holes.

Jim; I to was a few inches bigger then what I was used to, and my kilts were fittin tight. I went on an all protein diet for 6 weeks, dropped 15 lbs in that time, and now my kilts are loose on me. Say what you want about adkins, but it works, and you drop weight fast.

I say better one kilt that is a wee bit tight than no kilt at all...
besides, the kilt will give you motivation to loose that weight!

Tough decision - the good news is... Jerry offers great customer service so if you do decide to return it - you'll have a replacement in no time.
Good Luck!

I know too many people that have had great success with Atkins and South Beach style diets. They're not for me, though. Carbs make up WAAAAY too much of my diet. I'll just have to watch my portions and limit my fat intake.
I did it in 2005, but let myself go. This time, I need to make it stick. No offense to anyone here, but I personally dislike the way my gut looks with a kilt. One has to go... and the kilts are here to stay. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Well, I wouldn't be completely sans kilt. I still have the kilt's made by my own hands.
And the kilt would definately serve as motivation.

I've gathered that his customer service is great. Thanks to some internet glitches, my order went through twice. One had gotten paid for and the other didn't. Jerry contacted me to ask if I really wanted two or if it was some sort of mistake. I told him the situation and he cancelled the extra order. It took 1 week to get my kilt. The only way to get things to Hawaii in one week is to send it 2nd Day Air. Maybe USPS has stepped up their Priority mail game, but I place the blame for such expediance squarely on Jerry. lol
