brown leathers - blackwatch tartan?
simple and quick question....
while I prefer black leathers...the blackwatch tartan kilts I'm ordering from e-bay will be my "jeans" kilts...thusly prone to endure far more abuse. What is the general concensus of brown leathers (belt and boots, no sporran as I'll be doing labor of some kind) and blackwatch tartan, or is it a non-issue?
Need to Hamish proof myself before I get a talking to by Ham himself!

Hey K.KT I've seen brown leathers with the Blackwatch and I think it works great. It's because of the green thru it that it ties in, which makes it a really versatile kilt, perfect for your "jeans kilt". Go for it. Of course the brown leathers are ideal for knock around everyday use as they don't show all the scuffing etc that it puts up with.

I just bought a Black Watch kilt and I have a brown belt and sporran for it. I think it looks great! How's that?

that is exactly what I plan to use them for, especially at $50 a whack...and there is no way I'll leave my brown asolo hiking boots behind when heading for the hills!

I think brown with the green kilts is an awesome combo. I love the look of my brown buzz kidder with my Gordon modern kilt. It's a very classy look without getting too formal. Almost an Eddie Bauer look
