My Cilt hose has just turned up in the post. The Lovat Blue will go better I think than the ones in the picture. Will re post some piccys later.

Nice boots, Derek; I'd agree Lovatt blue hose would probably be a better match for the boots and cilt. Looking forward tro seeing more pics.

Very nice Derek!
You can also wear the sweater and shoes with your Welsh Cilt...with navy blue hose for instance.

I've never seen hiking footgear like that, actually. Interesting, actually I like them. Really heavy footgear gets really old after you've been hiking for a while.

it was a kilted mind trick...
as for the shoes, where did you get extra-high top chucks? While I wouldn't every pretend to wear those as hiking shoes, they do look very cool.
I had a pair of them some 15 years ago...very hard to find these days.
If you have never worn converse chucks before, know this. The rubber on the front is fairly easily torn, so no rugby or mountain climbing if you want to keep them looking in good condition.

oh, one very popular way to wear those particular shoes is to only lace them up half way, and turn the unlaced tops down. Not sure how that would look with a kilt, but if you do decide to try it, use tube socks instead of traditional hose, and push them down to the top of the shoe.

Go to www.converse.com and do a search for "X-Hi" and you'll get three pages of them. Too bad they don't go up to US size 13.
