I know the DVD's are not usuable in the US because of PAL. I have a friend who brought their DVD player here to the US, so they could watch thier old movies from the UK.
PAL-format DVD's play just fine in my computer. So you do have the ability to view them. As for CD's, no difference at all.

Hmm... I look forward to finding out if this CD is legit. No offense in the slightest bit to Barb, but this man finds himself more inclined to stare at his laptop screen than to flip through the pages of a book.
On the other hand, if the quality off the kilts I turn out would be better using Barb's book...

The Art of Kiltmaking vs. Kiltmaking for Beginners
Barb, you have nothing to worry about here.

BLAZN, amend that to "MUCH better" or "infinitely better."
I received the CD in the mail yesterday, and took a quick tour through it last night. There appears to be absolutely NO copywrite infringement of the book, The Art of Kiltmaking.
The main file is a Word document of 29 pages outlining the basic steps of kiltmaking, accompanied by some photographs of works in progress to illustrate. Presently knowing way too much for my own good, I would have a difficult time following the instructions to construct a full kilt. But to give Lauraine some props, there are a few tips that can be gleaned from it.
However, if some of you wish to knit your own kilt hose, four files have patterns have been coded into "knit-speak" for you.
Here are four selected screen shots for the troops.

No. You would be much better off purchasing Barb's book from www.celticdragonpress.com for $29.95 plus $4.75 shipping. Unless, you want to knit your own socks.

It's the large white stripes that make me think of the X-Marks Tartan. After a second or two you notice the color is wrong.
