Without actually being able to see the item, it's hard to make a determination.
My initial reaction is that you did just fine. Please give us a review when it arrives.
I've got a white rabbit sporran. I think I'd like a gray one. If you're happy with that vendor, I might buy one from him.

The price is great, but I'm worried about this:
please note the prodcut we sell is indentical to above sporran but without the moitif we feel it looks better without
This is a business with a couple hundred items on eBay, and they couldn't be bothered to take a picture of their own product?

Fuzzy pictures, or fuzzy sporrans?
I wouldn't want a plain leather sporran with a formal outfit. A agree that the sporran in the pic would look better without the thistle, and I agree with Iolaus that they should have taken the time to photograph it.

Ah, the 'fuzzy' sporrans...
I have nothing against fur (I will own one someday), just don't like the ones that look 'bushy'...
I would imagine these are Pakistani in origin??

Sporrans
I've had one of the rabbit fur sporrans, but not from this seller(though I have bought from them and they were fine). I've presumed it is an import as the metalwork, though ok, is not as crisp or thick as some of the others I have seen. It worked fine for the first year's events, and I wouldn't say I disgraced myself with it, but now I've found that it's better to save, rather than splash out on 'bargains' and get something really smart which I can inspect first. 2 or 3 'mistakes' buys one really classy sporran.

I'm not sure about this auction. I've made it a rule never to purchase an item that doesn't have pics of the actual item on the auction. You never know what you are going to get.
be careful next time...
if the sporran you get is what you are expecting, then I think you did very well for yourself!
