Wow, not only is this thread interesting but fattening too!

I've added these recipes to my file and look forward to the next time we have overnight house guests.

ah..... here we follow the mediterranean diet,... just milk and coffee with some pastry for breakfast.... all u're talking about seems to me a winter lunch!... and we NEVER use butter for cooking, salted or not

I know, Rusty! The trouble is that I can so clearly sense the smell of the cooking, just by looking at the photos.

Oh, YES! I had forgotten about Black Pudding and haven't had it for several years.......... must look for it at the supermarket next week!

While I think a substantial breakfast every now and again is great (for me that's about once a year), I don't know how you fellows are still amongst the walking if you consume that more than once in a while. I know my heart would have seized up by now, and I'm but a mere yoot!

Hey, can anyone tell me just where the heck I can find haggis in Ottawa? It's a hard thing to find.

Look for the pub with the guys saying "I dare you to eat this" inside. Either haggis or rocky mountain oysters...

Er... no. What're the chances that the haggis is any good? And, uh, I'd rather not down any whole glands, thank you.

I can feel my gout kicking in just thinking about it. I'd love to give it a try some day, but I know I'll suffer if I eat more than one bite. Anyway, I think I'll save my detours away from low purine foods for occassions that involve lots of beer.
