Tank?
I've been hunting, and haven't been able to locate a definition anywhere for "tank" as used in the forums.
It's not on the FAQ as a standard abbreviation, and the search engine returns an awful lot of hits.
So... what, exactly, are people referring to as a "tank?"

My impression is that it's an 8 yard, 16 oz, traditional wool kilt.

Also include handsewn.
Someone coined the term as saying this kind of kilt was built like a tank, i.e. built to last.
