    dressing for a wedding

Just asking for advice on looking presentable at a kilted wedding. Mostly looking for things that trip folks up, I think I have the easy stuff down but you never know until someone tells you its on upside down. This is the first wedding I'll being wearing a kilt, and its my own! Sadly for others, I will be in charge of making sure two friends are properly dressed.

And my thanks to Rocky for that kilt to us in time.

Mainly be sure that the kilt is worn at the right length - not too long over the knee, and that the kilt hose aren't too high on the leg. The kilt should hit between the top and the middle of the kneecap, and the hose should be no higher than three fingers below the bottom of the kneecap.

Also make sure there's no 'gaposis' between the waistcoat and the top of the kilt. The shirt mist not show below the waistcoat.

    Pleats in back.

That's about it, as far as I'm concerned.
Oh, and be sure and wear everything centered, and the kilt up over your navel.

Yes, it matters, and will make a big difference in the final "look."

Be prepared to be the center of attention.
Don't let the bridesmaids get behind you.
Don't "Braveheart" your new mother in law.

Congratulations to you and your bride to be.

Oh, no not my wedding. I will be 10 years married next month.
This is a friends niece getting married. Someone assumed due to my kilt wearing ways I knew how to dress myself. The mother of the bride has given me the task of making sure her brother there and dressed, plus another friend. Me I'm there for the cake.

A good pre-wedding gift might be Thompson's "So You're Going to Wear the Kilt."

It covers pretty much everything I can think of.

Well, the advice still applies. Pass the congrats on to the bride and groom.

If you post a pic, an hour or two before the show, someone should be online to help you. We took pics before my wedding, and I had plenty of time to make adjustments.
