purple problem
Now I have a problem!!
Yesterday I finished a new kilt in the warrior tartan:

Pleated to the white stripe, looks great - photos will come later!
Wearing black with it is no problem, brown belt, sporran, shoes … looks good, but what colour hose do I wear with the brown leather?
Black is what I have, it is ok with the kilt but with brown shoes???
I have to admit white tie – dyed with purple comes to mind , but I guess the wife will not want to be seen with me then!!

A black shirt and black hose are perfect...and I disagree with P1M...brown leather (shoes, belt and sporran) can look great on black.
A navy blue shirt and matching hose will look great also.
Also nice....lovat blue hose and a matching shirt (not easy to find)
Always good...oatmeal hose and a matching shirt

Actually, I'll have to side with P1M on this one. Browns tend to go better with colors on the warmer side of the spectrum... reds, greens, etc. This shade of purple looks quite cool on my monitor and black leather would go better IMHO. If the purple had more red in it like a burgundy, the browns would look good. Greys can go with both warm and cool colors... that might be woth exploring. Good luck.
