Ayear or so ago, I bought my wife a nice beige suede A-line skirt. After about 6 wearings, it was water spotted, marked, and food stained in a couple of areas. The skirt cost $75 and the cleaning cost $30. How practical is that? A kilt in real suede would be quite impractical for the rough and tumble world of a regular kilt worn by Xmarks guys. Don't know anything about faux suede. I believe that a regular leather is a better way to go. It's expensive though.

Hmm, as I just posted on the pics forum, I wear my leather kilts in the Arizona summers.

It is far northern Arizona...about five or ten degrees cooler than the desert heat sink in Phoenix.

But I've found that leather isn't THAT hot even in Arizona summers.

Personally wouldn't do suede. I'm such a slob I'm sure I'd gum it up with meal drippings and slobber.
