Are the 4 kilts you received all the same tartan? They all looked the same. All these pictures of wool kilts makes me want one, but oh so many colors and what company to buy from? I don't have the money now anyway, and I think I will wait until winter. Jonesing already, and I can't even order one yet.
DALE.

Yes, they are all blackwatch. While I really like the look about a great many tartans, something inside me feels a bit odd wearing one that I can't associate with. I'll prolly only every have these blackwatches, and a bunch of different MAcTavish / Thompson tartans.

I need to upgrade my thoughts on these kilts. I don't know how many of you live in the midwest, but I just came in out fo a storm producing baseball and softball sized hail, 70 mile-an-hour winds, flash floods and hellish winds.
of course, I was at wal-mart getting some random food items, seeing how the kilt flowed. It wears great.
as for the weather? the kilt help up better than most of the other people in the rain. the driving rain never once lifted the kilt, and even though I'm was drenched, the kilt kept me warm. I give it an A+ for handling weather. I would suggest upgrading the leathers, though. They are rather cheap and I'm sure they would not have held up so well after a few month's wear.

Just received, a few days ago, my own eBay Blackwatch from the same seller...
Overall, I guess I'm okay with the kilt -- the fabric's nice stuff, the colors are great. But the construction isn't exactly the finest in all the land: the front apron doesn't have a centered center stripe, the front turnover is nearly non-existent (the back apron doesn't have one at all), there's no a-line to the left of the front apron, the front apron just barely wraps around enough, and the front lining has unsightly stitching right across the upper-middle of the apron.
Others have reported a hem on theirs, mine is without, with a rather rough bottom edge, but at 23.5" it's too short to put one in.
For 50 bucks, it's hard to complain too much, I suppose. This one'll be my night-at-a-crowded bar kilt; won't have to worry about it too much.
Not really worth the hassle of sending back, but others might be better off spending that little bit more for a known top-quality knock around. Too bad, really, with a bit more care in the making this could've been a great kilt (might take a bit more fabric for that, npi).
