Excellent thread! I've had my goatee/stache for 3 years now, and my wife normally loves the look. Once in awhile she'll suggest I shave it off, but isn't terribly serious about the request. Good thing, because I have no interest in going clean-shaven any time soon. I look young enough as it is...I need the facial-fur to add some age.

Mine is canonically required, so to speak, so I'm probably safe....but for how long?

Mine going nowhere. Shaved it off once. No one recognized me, and I looked like I was 18. It's not something I want to go through again! Besides, shaving every day is a real pain in the butt, and decent razors are getting expensive these day. Can't have them cutting into my baby and kilt funds!

I bought an antique straight razor off ebay, a strop, and a shaving brush and soap. A bit of an upfront expense, but that razor is older than I am. As long as I take care of it it'll be an heirloom for my son, so the only expense is shaving soap (lasts longer than cream). After getting the hang of stropping it and the occasional sharpening, and actually using it, I get a better shave than my Mach 3 ever gave. It's funny, I see commercials for razors with 4+ blades, and a striaght razor is best.

I shave my neck and upper cheeks (sort of a Henry VIII look), so I like to have a good razor, but I don't shave every day. Every week or so, maybe.

I have kept a goatee for the past 8 or 9 months. I shaved it off briefly, and hated it. I looked 15 again (I'm 21 currently). So I keep it, and probably will for some time.

Unfortunately, I am not faced with the kisses v. facial hair dilemma

I shave the goatee off at least once each year for fit testing my SCBA, and anytime we have a response requiring more than level D protection (I keep a razor in my kit bag). It usually grows back in about a week and a half or so.

Bryan...now if I lost the moustache it would be terrifying...

Mine is am ongoing project. It has never been very heavy anyhow. But, ifI do decide to shave anything, it will be this little bit of fuzz I still have left on top of my head.
