I cannot stand wearing hats, but have been photographed wearing a couple!! Don't know what it is, but I feel such a prune when wearing any form of headgear and I know that none of them suits me.
At school we had to wear uniform caps from the age of 7 to leaving at 18 (for the last two years of school life, our caps carried the additional decoration of 6" long gold silk tassels hanging from the centre at the top - just imagine the humiliation!!). Then, in the army for my two years' National Service, my uniform headwear was a navy blue beret .......... to this day, I just HATE berets!!
A little sunscreen, worn at the height of summer, is all I like to wear on my head nowadays - kilts or no kilts!

Hamish, I thought that all you wore was kilts, so, that means... oh! Never mind.

If I'm off hiking in the woods, I'll wear an aussie-style widebrim hat to keep the rain off. Otherwise I hate hates with a passion, so I don't wear them.

Retro Red, I like that pic. Great look, and the hat goes well. Where did you find the vest?
I am not a fan of hats either, but in blazing sun or extended periods outside, I favor a wide brimmed, light weight hat, similar to this:

With the PC or the Argyle I wear the Balmoral, I have a Glengarry but I am not at all fond of it. I have been collecting hats for 30 years and have some special ones like Army Air Corps crush caps, Pith helmets from a number of war eras and others that don't even fit me. I have boxes of hats that I haven't opened in years, maybe I might have something else that I could add to the wardrobe that I have forgotten about. With my Tweed jackets I wear a Deerstalker if the weather permits and I think as far as the hats that go with Scottish Attire I like the Deerstalker best as it is the most comfortable.

Well, I typically wear a ball cap of some kind unless I'm dressed up. Howevr, I've been looking for a John Bull Top hat for some time (shorter that regular top hats - think Tom Petty in the "You Got Lucky" video or anything with the Traveling Wilburies). Biggest problem is that if I'm going to get one, I want it in real beaver felt and I can't seem to stop buying kilts long enough to save the money. In actuality I've only known what this hat was called for less than a year now, though I have been searching for one for nearly 15 years.
