    Ron,

I really liked your comparison. Concise and to the point wwith the Roses and Orchids.

    Excellent review Ron.

I'd say the best thing SK has is the drape of the cloth. That's what makes it my favorite pajama kilt.

Rocky will leave the patch off if requested. He can also get many tartans which are not on their web site, it will just take longer than the standard lead times.

Thanks for the review Ron. It was very precise.

I think it should be pointed out that you are just comparing specific models from each company though so that some people don't think the companies are being compared on all their offerings.

On one side we have Sporkilts highest offering and on the other we have USA Kilts lowest offering in models. Each firm offers other models to suit their customer's demands and wants.

From a personal perspective, I will always go for the custom made garment rather than off the rack. It's the same with set length in a kilt. If it's not made for me I don't need it, and I will just save the cash.

The MacLean looks great with the green hose by the way.

Thanks for making that point Colin,

Was hoping for other feedback and good to see it.

So hard to compare two similar things and not seem like one is being chosen over the other.

Rumi said, "Out beyond ideas of rightdoing and wrongdoing, there is a field, I'll meet you there."

    Me, I've chosen both.

    Ron,

An excellent objective and comprehensive review. It will be of great value to others in deciding which kilt they might prefer. Great job.

    USA Casual At The Office

Okay, wore the USA Kilts MacLean Hunting Casual to work today. Very comfortable, very cool on a 77 degree F day.

Have worn the Black Stewart SportKilt to work, also very comfortable.

A couple weird things, more related to the Freelander Sporran and Craigie Sporran Strap than the kilt.

My Freelander has antler weights at the bottom of the cords. Sometimes when I was seated the cord would slip over the hem of the kilt and the weight of the antler would pull the cord down making the kilt lay kinda weird. I don't sit at a desk, but sort of oblique from my clients so they can see my kilt hem, but not look up it.

The other thing is that the way I put the kilt on I left some of the hook side of the velcro exposed on the right side of my waist. I happened to use a Craigie Sporran Strap with the fuzzy velcro inside to protect the kilt. Well, when that fuzz on the strap hits the hooks on the kilt waist the sporran is firmly locked in place. Making it a challenge to move to get to the buckle to take off or to move out of the way to take a leak. Gotta pay more attention to covering the velcro hooks when I dress.

Also, in the interest of science I also took a seat in the restroom for the obvious reasons. Found it was easy to hold the back pleats out of the way while completing the operation. Another advantage to the casual style kilt.

If I would have been wearing a vest instead of a sporran today probably would have just taken it off.

Don't wanna beat this thing to death, but thought some folks would wanna know.

And, posted a pic of todays outfit in the show us your pic section.
