I always love seeing the old castles and other buildings across the water. That's what I loved about my two trips to Europe. Here in the States we don't have anywhere near the history, since everything was "built last week".

Oh, I don't know. There are some "castles" near here that are older than the ones P1M's been showing pictures of. In some cases, twice as old.
Granted, the architecture isn't quite the same.
And, yes, P1M posts great pictures. He's an evil, evil man.

Superb pics, P1M and just a few miles out of Dumfries. You'll have to start taking your guests to Caerlaverock on guided tours. I've seen Caerlaverock Castle from the air many times but yet to pay a visit. Looking forward to seeing your pics of Sweetheart Abbey soon.

Oh, I've seen a lot of them and enjoy visiting them, but it's not the same. I don't have the same cultural ties to those structures as I do the European sites.
