I had been specifically "requested" not to wear a kilt while teaching at a CC. I complied for nearly 2 years, then last Feb I decided that since we had a new president (it had been my dept chair's fear of the old pres' reaction that fuled the "request") I started teaching kilted. No reaction, but I haven't taught since Feb either. Additionally, I received a copy of the "dress code" last week (it was sent to everybody, I wasn't singled out), and unless I want to call it a skirt I'm not sure I fit the dress code (I'm also supposed to wear a jacket and tie - what fun).
