Why I've been hiding lately...
I haven't had much time recently to check the board, and when I do I'm overwhelmed by all the new posts! You people talk waaaaaaay too much! <G>
I couldn't possibly read them all, but I try to read as many threads as possible.
At any rate, life has kept us very busy the past few weeks. The living room renovations took alot out of me...I can now understand why people pay other people to do that kind of work. However, it's alot closer to being done. The floor is finished, all that's really left to do is tidy up the trim and baseboards. It was alot of hard work, but the end results are worth it and it's nice to be able to say "I did it myself".

I've also been very busy at work. Our hours have increased, which is good for the paycheque, but bad for having a life. We've also re-negotiated our mortgage and borrowed against the equity to pay off some debts, buy a newer car for my wife, and allow me to replace the yellow Kawasaki Vulcan we had to sell last year. The replacement bike is also partly a "finished my probation at work so now I'm a permanent city employee" celebration gift. This past year has gone so well that I splurged a bit more than I'd planned to on a bike, and bought this little jewel yesterday...

I never thought I'd live to see the day I'd be able to own a Harley. It's a 1998 Harley Davidson Sportster XL1200C, in the 95th Anniversary Limited Edition version. The only downside is riding it will keep me in jeans rather than kilts alot of the time. LOL
Anyway, just thought I'd pop a post up so you'd know I was still alive. Cheers!

Nice Sporty! Oh and good job on the living room. Very nice Sporty! Has your increased hours come because of an increased ridership on the mass transit system? I ride the bus into work and since gas here has been approaching $3.00 a gallon, lots of new faces are showing up on the bus.

Gongrats on completing your probationary period, and on the great looking scooter.

All we have to do not is find someone who can some up with riding leathers for the kilted!

Maybe we ought to make an exception for those who ride scoots...it's okay to wear jeans but you have to get a plaid to wear across your chest sort of bandoleer style.
Best

...and congrats...it's good to get so much done and still be able to score a nice bike in the bargain!

Nice renovations and nice Harley, Al.G. I've had a beast of a cold in the head and chest all week so been at home since last Saturday and spent a lot of time on the internet. It was so nice to get a life again and get kilted up today and go over to the airport for a duty day at the aviation museum. I've read with envy P1M's magnificent threads about Caerlaverock Castle, Threave Castle, Sweetheart Abbey and Rockcliffe. This has been my view from the window all week - we are getting a driveway built for the car.
