As you said, just don't get abusive - and don't pull any arguments back over here. However, don't expect much traffic. Not many people visit; the last post was three days ago.

Thanks Iolaus. Far simpler a solution than I had originally thought!

I myself am not much for the political debates as I find they bring out the pure arguer in me. I tend to argue for the sake of the arguement and not for actual beliefs, so I steer clear, but I figured there has to be a way for these types of discussions to happen.

Maybe if someone wants to bring something up in response to a post and they fear moderation then they can say that their response is 'in The Pub' and leave it there. People have a voice, and we keep it laid back over here.

After only finding this site a few months ago, there are always certain posters that you read and Rigged was one for me. I'll miss the posts but I think that I understand his frustrations.

Rigged please dont leave, weve all been censored at some stage and like it or not we have to abide with the rules of the forum, and I have pushed the envelope as much as anyone, however what yoiuve done is express strongly held sincere views , this is very different than "flaming" maybe the mods dont think this is a place to discuss these views but im sure that doesnt mean that they disagree, they just feel that this is the wrong place to air them.

Its a privilage that youve felt you can share your beliefs and views with us and I hope you will reconsider, you are amongst friends.

I agree with Daz. I think most of us agree with Daz. We would like you to stay on this forum because you have good posts and a different perspective on lots of things. We need that here. So, please stay with the forum and please keep posting.

I am sure that this thread will just keep going and going and going and going. Which is why I am going to lock it after I say my piece. Expected? Yup.

Rigged has been a valuable asset to this forum. However this all has to do with the gun issue. Gun talk has no place on this forum. Guns have nothing to do with wearing kilts just as bicycles have nothing to do with kilts. The difference is that talking about guns causes people to lose their mind which in turns to them losing their focus. We had a huge forum war about a year ago concerning guns. It is the reason Alaskan left (he still posts at Kiltmen). I made it clear after that war that gun talk, whether you were wearing a kilt or not, had no place here because of the volatile subject matter that always turns into a political discussion of gun control. I have no problems with anyones veiws on guns. But I have a major problem with fanatics of any nature. Therefore we will dimiss posts that have the potential or have already caused problems. If you dont like that then please refer to Rule #1.

If you want to talk about guns take it to the Pub.


As for the inconsistency in moderating. Do you guys realize that we get over 1500 visitors to this site per day. That translates to around 1000 posts per day. This is the most active Kilt related site on the internet. I have 6 mods. They have a rough job. Sometimes they cant even see all of the new posts in one day because by the time they look at one 3 more are posted. Give me and them a break. If a post is deemed offensive then they will try and moderate it. If they dont then try to drop a PM. It isnt an easy job and they are all doing it for FREE. Which reminds me. You are all here for FREE as well. Doesnt the community pool have rules? Dont the people get away with breaking the rules sometimes? Are the rules there for the safety and well being of those using the pool? Yes.

BTW I also can garuntee that more people here support the way this site is run that dont. I have said it time and time again.

So to wrap up, (how many times am I going to have to do this?), the rules are here for the protection of the overall community. My mods do a great job, but they are HUMAN. We are not omnipresent. And finally I have been hearing the arguments for more than 2 years now that if this forum keeps getting moderated the way it does then no one will come blah blah blah.
