    Moose,

Why don't you have the link to your web site in your postings; might help get business started.

Tough times don't last, tuff people do.

    Moose,

I've been self employed for so long that I don't think I could hold down a real job if I had to!!

You'll be OK ... I've been brought to tears myself a time or two or twenty. I even experienced the phenom of getting too big and colapsing under my own weight. Lost everything, but, I just got back up, dusted myself off and started another business.

Many days I have no idea what I'm going to do tomorrow, but I have faith that the same program that feeds the birds will feed me too and it does. Just today I finished my work and told my help to meet me tomorrow for the next days work ... when I said it I had absolutely nothing for us to do.

I said it on faith in the system that all small businessmen are well aquainted with ... at 4:45 PM I got a call from an old partner and BAM I've got a very profitable day ahead of me tomorrow. I've seen this happen over and over and over again for 14 years straight.

And, one last thing, even having your business go tits up isn't nearly as bad as you think ... fact is the world loves and respects the small businessman and damned near everyone who knows you will seek your success.

Sleep well knowing that something way bigger than you is looking after you. Wake up excited about what the day will bring ... you never know what opportunity will just be dropped in your lap.

What you've experienced at your old job is the jealousy of those who have never had and will never have the courage and faith to do what you are doing. They are trying to scare you out of making the leap. They hope you will fail because your failure would make them feel better about themselves.

You won't fail. They can screw you out of what you have coming but they can't screw you out of your own talent, desire, faith and guts.

    Kilt On!

    Chris Webb

"you missed nothing. I just put it in, per your suggestion."

    Moose,

Made my post then read your reply to it, then went and looked at your original post and seeing the link, couldn't believe I'd missed seeing it. Gave me a terrible fright and I had the thought-only for a fleeting moment, mind you-that it might have been the Scotch.

Thanks for clearing that up and of course, best of luck in your new business venture.

    Bob

Chris, What remarkable words of encouragement and support. Even I feel heartened by them.

Moose, I've learned that through chaos and difficulty comes incredible personal growth. Today's challenges are tomorrow's triumphs. I wish you much success and prosperity.

    Regards,
    Rex in Cincinnati

Don't forget the everpresent silver lining here. No longer will you be a peon, trodden upon by the boot of corporate profits. No longer will you need to put in for vacation five months in advance, and go to work sick just so your boss can take off to the bahamas. No more worrying about saying or doing something that will get your fired.

you enjoy the freedom that most people are afraid to embrace.

I raise my flask to you!

    Moose,

I wish you all the best, and admire your decision to go into business for yourself. Chris Webb has eloquently shown what determination and perseverance can accomplish. I sincerely hope that you are able to recover the compensation that is due you from your previous employer.

    Darrell
