My kilts run from the lightweight AKs and SportKilts and USA Casual up through PKs and FKs and UKs and USA semi-trads to 11, 13, and 16 oz wool to my RK and UK leather.

Keeps me toasty in winter and cool in summer.

What amazes me is the number of country dancers who refuse to envisage anything but the heavy 8-yarder for dancing. Wearing one of these in mid winter is fine, but sweating in overheated dance halls or in the occasional warmth of a brief summer is no fun.
I can remember times when I changed out of woolen kilt to don shorts whan it got too hot dancing, but now I have lightweight 4 - 5 yard casuals, I'm comfortable however energetic the dancing may be.
Yet country dancers tend to scoff at my suggestion of wearing something not quite so traditional. But then, if they can dance with jackets on, I guess they must be born that way!
