Sometimes one wants to make a comment or ask a question about a picture that's quite a ways back in the thread, with maybe several others that could be confused with it--I would just like to know if we will get blasted if we "quote" the picture in the reply? If that would be acceptable certainly I agree we could shorten up the pages in the common cases where there is no confusion.

Guys, it's a molehill. Let's not make more of it than it has to be.
If you are quoting a post with an image, click on the image in your reply and tap the Delete key. One mouse click and one key entry and the image is gone. No fuss, no muss, no antacids, no HTML code and no anti-depressants necessary.
KCW, we're not at a point of wanting to modify any of the files, at present. If we make that change, it won't carry across to any upgrades anyway. I appreciate the offer, however.
No, you're not going to get 'blasted' for quoting an image that is 3-4 pages back in a thread. Although, if it becomes an issue down the road, we may have to re-address it.
Ron, quoting a message in a reply is not so tough, either. Look at the lower right corner of this post. See the Quote button? It does the work for you.

Mike, I tried a test quote without actually posting anything, but I couldn't find a delete button. This leads me to believe that I would actually have to post the quote with the image, and then delete the image. Is this a correct assumption? I have gotten around the images or quoted a small portion of a post by copying and pasting the selected text into my post, and then adding something like, "quote Mike1"
"A day spent in the fields and woods, or on the water should not count as a day off our allotted number upon this earth."

When you press the quote function you can just go in and edit out the bits you don't want example
that post you want to quote: blah ,blah
just remove the part that startswith (Take the whole thing don't leave the brackets ) This can be done even by using the backspace key.The picture goes away when you post your reply
