I got defended!
My math teacher has known me for three semesters now, and likes to give me a hard time when I wear one of my kilts - not in a bad way; we actually like each other - anyway, he made some crack about "...and then there's Jeff, in his skirt here..." and about a half dozen young college girls started defending me, with me saying a word! I just had to laugh about it.

haha! I had a similar experience, when a teacher asked if I was wearing a kilt, whole class jumped in explaining that I had been for weeks and such.
I love those moments!
Did he have to explain that he knew, or just let it go?

Excellent! Life is great when things work themselves out w/o us even having to open our mouths.

Oh, he knows. He's seen me in kilts on a regular basis for some time now; he just likes to give me (and everyone else) a good-natured hard time. My kilts just give him an easy target; it wasn't the first time.
Don't get me wrong; I really like the guy, I wouldn't be in my third semester with him if I found him annoying.

that is fantastic...with the students on your side. I'll bet teaching there is a blast!

I had something similar happen the other day in the line for coffee. It's always a kick when something like this happens.

oh yeah, I gathered that from the post. What I meant was did he explain to the other students that he was just messing with you, or did he just let that go?

I think it was obvious that he was just messing around, but yes, he did follow up with a comment about "gotta respect a guy that will wear a kilt..." The whole thing turned into a thirty second discussion about kilts - who wears them, what they can cost...
You gotta understand - this guy's a character; he'll joke around with anyone, about anything. He keeps a very good rapport going with his classes. My first post was more about the reaction of the girls around me than his initial comment.
