That is intriguing. It looks like the system has the potential to greatly enhance the kilt's ability to fit over a larger range of sizes.

It looks like it wouldn't be to hard to retrofit an existing kilt to fasten that way; just remove the buckles and attach one in place of the opposing strap, and then replace the underapron strap with a belt. Hmmm.
